Equipment model · DT-1501

The TOPMAYA DT-1501 is a one-head embroidery machine for flat garments that also takes a cap setup for hats. It comes with 12 or 15 needles, a 500 × 400 mm field for flat work, and top speeds of 1,200 stitches/min flat and 1,000 on caps. A servo motor drives it, the hook is a Japanese Hirose, and designs arrive by USB, Wi-Fi or LAN. It fits short runs and personalised pieces. Settle the needle count, controller and attachments first, then judge a stitched sample.

Will your logo and article fit the DT-1501

Flat embroidery can use up to 500 × 400 mm. For caps the figure given is 270°, which is an angle rather than a design size. Hand over the cap style you sell, with its front seam and the frame you intend to use, and ask for the width and height the machine can stitch on it.

Garments raise a different question. Can the hoop reach the logo position, and where does the spare fabric sit while the head runs? Post the real shirt, jacket or bag with the logo marked on it. Thick seams and shaped items are the ones to try first, because a general list of uses says little about them.

The two top speeds, 1,200 stitches/min flat and 1,000 on caps, are machine limits. Dense designs may need a slower setting. Agree the speed for the trial and the stitch quality you will accept at that speed before the sample is sewn. [1]

DT-1501 figures and what to ask about each

These are the figures on the model page. Check them against the current drawing for the build you buy before you plan floor space or book freight. If you are torn between 12 and 15 needles, weigh the two needle configurations against each other rather than trusting the model name. The power entry is a rated input; what to check on site is set out under installed power and electrical supply. [1]

Hoops, cap kit and optional frames

The accessory list on the DT-1501 page names the items shipped with the machine, while the functions table marks cap work as optional. Get the complete kit for your quote onto a signed packing list so both sides know what arrives.

One frame entry reads “550mm-pc/head” with no second dimension or quantity. Request the drawing and the count for that frame. For how a hoop size relates to the field you can actually stitch, see the notes on embroidery machine specifications. [1]

Getting designs onto the machine

The general FAQ suggests DST or DSB files, made in digitising software that exports them. The DT-1501 page lists USB, Wi-Fi and LAN. Load one of your own files on the unit you will receive and check that it arrives at the right scale, origin and colour order.

iDesign Pro is the image-to-stitch software that MAYA markets. Ask what the licence costs now and in later years. Then sew a sample and look at small text, underlay, fill density, jump stitches and trims, because an automatic file may need edits for some fabrics.

Automatic colour change and trimming save the operator some handling. The number of colours and trims in a design still decides how long it takes. Make backup and reload, switching designs and thread-break recovery part of operator training. [1] [2]

Trial and handover on caps and garments

Run only the steps for work you will sell. The final step doubles as your acceptance check at delivery. [1] [2]

  1. Set up the samples

Note the artwork revision, logo position, garment or cap build, thread, needle, backing and the hoop or cap driver chosen.

  2. Check position before sewing

Trace the design boundary and confirm clearance at the cap seam or a small pocket. Settle a loading method any operator can repeat.

  3. Sew the hard parts

Fine letters, dense fills, registration, puckering and trims at the agreed speed. Keep the approved piece and its settings together.

  4. Break and recover

Let the machine stop on a thread break, return to the right point and carry on without losing alignment. Follow the safe operator steps in the manual.

  5. Time a real batch

Clock hooping, loading, design changes, stitching and unloading over a typical batch. Count good pieces and rejects apart.

  6. Hand over

Count the attachments, switch between cap and flat, and train threading, oiling, cleaning, file backup and basic fault finding.

Warranty, spares and training

The DT-1501 table gives one year of warranty, while the FAQ from MAYA speaks of 1–5 years and lifetime free after-sales service. Have the term for your machine written into the offer, listing covered assemblies, excluded consumables, freight, labour, response times and any site-visit charges.

The FAQ also mentions English guides, teaching and maintenance videos and video-call help. Ask for the documents before shipping, confirm the language and time zone of support, find out which spare parts are held in stock and agree how much operator training comes with the machine. [1] [2]

Sources & limitations

Ask MAYA for a signed DT-1501 offer that confirms in writing the needle version and the controller with its screen size, whether the cap frames, stand and drive are in the price, the size and count of the 550 mm frame, the stitchable cap field for your cap style, and the warranty term for this machine with its parts, labour and freight terms.
