Generic knitting machinery illustration · not the listed equipment

Equipment model · ZYQX-01

The ZYQX-01 is a computerised flat knitting machine from Zhiyi for shaped and patterned articles. Its technical page gives a 52-inch knitting width, 9G and a variable-gauge version written as 357G, AC-servo racking of up to 2 inches, and a top rate of 39 cycles per minute on a 254 mm stroke or 57 on a 43 mm stroke. Listed stitch functions are tuck, transfer, eyelet, jacquard, intarsia and narrowing. For a quote, send the article you want to knit, its yarn and the gauge, and ask for the carrier set-up in writing.

Gauge, width and the articles it targets

Two gauge entries appear on the page: 9G, and 357G marked as variable gauge. There is no note on the needle arrangement, how a gauge change is made or which yarns suit each setting. Ask Zhiyi which arrangement your machine will carry, and send your yarn count so the offer is built around it. The flat knitting gauge guide explains how gauge links needle spacing to fabric weight.

The 52-inch figure is the knitting width of the needle bed. Shaped pieces, transfers, racking and paired panels all take up needles, so ask how much of that width your layout will use. It is no guide to the frame size of the machine either.

Zhiyi markets the ZYQX-01 for gloves, hats and scarves and mentions rib, cable, jacquard and tubular or formed knitting. Agree on one real article, with any linking, trimming or washing after knitting written down, so the sample shows exactly what leaves the machine. [1]

Stroke, speed and density settings

The two speed figures belong to different strokes, so they cannot be read as one top speed. A real program mixes strokes, transfers and reversals, which is why a timed run on your article says more than either number. When you weigh the ZYQX-01 against other flat knitting machines, compare machine configurations at the same stroke and on the same program. [1]

Lines to clear up on the configuration sheet

A few lines on the current ZYQX-01 page are printed with broken characters. The knitting-system line is too garbled to give a carriage or system count. Ask Zhiyi for a clean, current data sheet before you sign.

The carrier line names three guide rails and then prints 2"6, which gives no usable carrier count. An intarsia carrier device for float-free colour areas is listed as optional. If your design has intarsia blocks, ask whether the device is in the price.

The cutter and clamp line is scrambled as well. Ask for a parts drawing that marks each cutter and clamp and the actions the program controls. A photo of the machine will not answer that. [1]

Touch screen, program files and alarms

The control panel is an LCD graphical touch screen. Programs load by USB or network, memory is expandable and written as 1G, and the interface comes in several languages, among them Chinese, English and Arabic. Check the memory unit, file format, design software and controller version for your machine.

Monitoring covers working parameters and stitch density. During the demonstration, have an operator open a program, check carriers and gauge, change a permitted setting, save the approved version and restore a backup. Zhiyi offers free upgrades; put the licence and support period in writing.

Alarms are listed for yarn breaks, knots, floating yarn, winding faults, a bed that has not returned, needle collisions and program errors, and the page mentions a safety self-lock. Ask to see each safeguard trip and reset following the machine manual. [1]

Supply voltage, power-loss memory and floor plan

In Chinese the supply line reads single-phase 220 V. The English line beside it gives single-phase 220 V and three-phase 380 V. Get the nameplate and wiring diagram for your unit, with rated input, frequency and protection, before you size the circuit. Hand your electrician the ZYQX-01 nameplate together with our notes on installed power and electrical supply.

The same line mentions memory that holds the program after a power cut. Ask which data survive, whether program, position or settings, and how the operator restarts and inspects the piece. Cut the power once during the trial and look at the article knitted after the restart.

The page gives no installed footprint, weight or full utility list. Ask for all three before you plan floor space, access and lifting. [1]

A trial run for the ZYQX-01

Run a trial on your production yarn with every option you are paying for. Signed results give you the base for the factory acceptance test, and the list of spare needles and wear parts belongs in the same offer. Zhiyi's other knitting machines are listed on the maker page. [1]

  1. Write down the article

Yarn count and fibre, finished size, structures, colour areas, finishing steps and the file version.

  2. Record the build

Gauge and needle arrangement, carriers, intarsia device, cutters and clamps, controller and software.

  3. Knit the tricky zones

Transfers, racking, narrowing and colour joins from your design; check for holes, dropped loops, floats and shape.

  4. Hold a reference piece

Keep an approved sample with its settings, then compare later pieces after the same relaxing or finishing.

  5. Time a full run

Over an agreed period, count accepted pieces, rejects, stops and unfinished operations as separate figures.

  6. Hand over

Show a program change, a backup and a restart; collect training, spares and the written warranty.

Sources & limitations

Before ordering, ask Zhiyi to confirm in writing: the gauge arrangement, the knitting-system and carrier counts, the cutters and clamps fitted, whether the intarsia device is included, the supply voltage and phase, and the installed size and weight. Judge output by accepted pieces on your own article rather than by the stroke rates.
