BQ198

Generic weaving machinery illustration · not the listed equipment

Equipment series · BQ198

The BQ198 is an automatic warp knotter that ties the incoming warp to the old one on a mobile frame, away from the loom. The maker rates it at up to 600 knots per minute with stepless rotary speed control, and builds frames from 1 m to 4 m wide. Four versions cover a standard lease, unleased warps, a combination of leased and unleased sheets, and double knots for filament such as nylon. For a quote, send the lease drawing of both warp sheets, the knot you need, yarn samples and the frame width.

The four BQ198 versions

Boqiu splits the BQ198 model page into four tabs, and each tab carries its own data. An offer that only says BQ198 could mean any of them. Name the version on the order and attach its tab data. [1]

Version on the model pageWhat sets it apartWhat your offer should state
Automatic warp knotterCam lease at 1:1 as standard; optional type 10 unit for regular repeats from 1:1 through 4:4, or an irregular one; single or double knot by switchThe lease mechanism fitted, the knot options and how they are adjusted.
Unleased warp knotterTies warps with no lease; the image prints 2S–200S while the text beside it gives 2–160One agreed count range, with the meaning of S spelled out.
Unleased / leased warp knotterBoth sheets leased, neither leased, or just one of themThe upper and lower arrangement you will run, shown on the machine.

Published figures and what to ask about each

Several figures appear only in the specification images, not in the page text. The widest frame, the full yarn range and top speed are each listed on their own. Ask Boqiu which of them it will hold together on your warp.

The counts are printed with S and D. Ask which count system the S figure uses before you compare it with your own Ne or Nm yarn data. [1]

Draw both warp sheets before choosing a lease mode

Boqiu's lease diagram shows four cases. Neither the upper nor the lower sheet is leased, both are, the upper is unleased while the lower is leased, or the reverse. Upper and lower describe the frame. Old and new describe your warps. Decide which warp goes where on the supplied frame before you choose.

The standard cam unit ties a 1:1 repeat, so check that your warp follows it. For 2:2, 3:3, 4:4 or an irregular repeat, ask for the type 10 unit to be quoted as a separate line, together with an illustrated guide to setting the repeat.

Send the warp sequence, the lease drawing, the total number of ends, the working width and any special selvedge or colour order. Ask Boqiu to show how the end order holds at the start of the sheet, across its width and after a stop. [1]

A tight knot also has to clear the loom

On the general tab, Boqiu describes independent yarn clamps, needle positions that move for the yarn and clamping pressure set to yarn thickness. It lists cotton, wool, silk, filament, textured and elastic yarn as suitable. Your own construction and finish are what count, so test them.

The page shows a single knot A and a double knot B. A double knot helps with yarn that tends to come undone. You still need to look at knot size and tail length, and at how the knot runs through your drop wires, heddles and reed once weaving starts again. Boqiu publishes no knot-strength or fault-rate figures, so agree a test with them.

Bring samples of both the old and the incoming yarn, covering differences in count, finish, twist, stretch and condition. Ask for the trial on the hardest yarn in your range. [1]

Accept the machine on a full warp change

Buyer acceptance steps

These steps are a suggested acceptance plan for buyers. Nobody from the site has run a BQ198 or timed a warp change on one. Run the trial on your own warp and keep every result with its conditions. [1]

  1. Label the job

Mark the old and new sheets with end count, width, material, count system and the lease pattern.

  2. Record the machine

Note the frame size, the exact version, the lease unit and the knot selected.

  3. Time the setup

Clock frame setup and warp preparation apart from the knotting run, and write down the settings that worked.

  4. Run and count

Log speed, ends tied, stops, missed or doubled picks and the time spent putting them right, using terms agreed beforehand.

  5. Check the loom path

Look at the knots and tails, then pass them through the loom and restart under Boqiu's safe operating steps.

  6. Judge the result

Record the time until good fabric comes off the loom, the faults left and how often the operator stepped in. Keep the samples and the pass limits.

Frame, parts and handover

Ask for an installation drawing that shows the room needed around the beam and the mobile frame, the working height, the shipping size and where the frame is parked between jobs. The 1–4 m width range gives none of these.

Request a full supply list: frame, knotting head, lease parts, the electrical supply and adapters, manuals and a first set of wear parts. Have needles, clamps and other service items named for the version you are buying rather than shown on a general photograph.

Boqiu promotes the BQ198 for short downtime and broad yarn coverage. To judge payback, compare a full accepted warp change with the way your mill does it now, using your own labour, downtime and repair figures. Price, lead time, training and warranty come from a current offer. [1]

Sources & limitations

Have Boqiu confirm in writing, before you order, which version you will receive and whether the type 10 unit is included, one count range with the meaning of S for that version, the motor nameplate and supply data in place of the combined printed line, and the knot quality and warp-change time you will accept after your own trial.
