SGD2012 · Yarn winding

Generic spinning machinery illustration · not the listed equipment

Equipment model · SGD2012

The SGD2012 is a digital rewinding machine that builds weft packages for looms. Sanfang lists 48 spindles, set out four to a section, and will build fewer to order. Every spindle has an individual brushless motor, the traverse is computer controlled through a ball screw, and the machine halts itself at a yarn break or when the package is full. Line speed is printed as less than 750 m/min. Two package entries are offered, 5 kg and 3 kg, each tied to its own tube size. Start a quote by sending the yarn, the holder on your loom feeder and the package you want to unwind.

Picking package A or B

Sanfang prints two package options for this rewinder. Each capacity belongs to one tube entry, so read across a row and keep that pair together when you write the enquiry.

Several things are left open: the units of each dimension, the tube bore and material, whether the diameter means the body or the flange, and whether the capacity counts yarn alone. Settle them on a tube drawing before the heavier package tempts you. A bigger package saves changeovers only when your feeder holds it and it unwinds cleanly to the end. [1]

Fitting the package to your loom feeder

Sanfang names rapier, water-jet and air-jet looms as the destination for these packages. Each type feeds weft in its own manner, so say which one you run and send the holder drawing from its feeder. A physical tube helps where you can spare one.

State the withdrawal direction, the working orientation, the yarn mass you expect to draw from each package and any limits in transport or storage. Describe the yarn by linear density, construction and finish.

Agree what a good package looks like on your yarn: shoulder build, firm edges, no loose coils and a clean surface. Keep one package that ran well on your looms as the reference for later deliveries. [1]

Drive, traverse and speed

An individual brushless motor drives each spindle directly. According to Sanfang, the spindles ramp gently to the set speed and then hold the line speed constant. The traverse is computer controlled, finely adjustable and moved by a ball screw.

The listed line speed of less than 750 m/min is an upper bound for the machine. Your working speed depends on the yarn, the package quality you accept and what the loom needs, so fix it during a trial with your own yarn.

The YS6324 motor rated at 0.09 kW drives the traverse. No total machine load is printed. For energy comparisons, ask for the supply and phase, the total connected load and a metered reading taken while the trial runs. [1]

Stops and saved settings

The SGD2012 is listed with an automatic stop when the yarn breaks and another when the package is full. Ask to see both on your yarn, run by the operating procedure that ships with the machine, and ask how the full-package point is sensed and set.

If package length or net weight is written into your contract, ask which device measures it and agree a cross-check with a separate scale or counter. The words full package on their own name no measuring method.

Find out which settings the controller saves and which are mechanical. Have the technician change the yarn or package, call back an approved recipe and wind again, then inspect that first package closely. [1]

Accepting packages at the loom

No output or quality figures are published for the SGD2012. Build acceptance around a short programme that finishes on your own weaving floor. [1]

  1. Choose one lot

Use a single yarn lot for the whole test and note its count, structure, finish and incoming package.

  2. Lock the drawing

Sign off the A or B option, tube drawing, net mass, finished size and holder fit before winding starts.

  3. Label every sample

Mark each package with its spindle, speed, traverse and tension settings and any stops. Take packages from more than one spindle.

  4. Inspect at the winder

Measure mass and size against the agreed tolerances, and look at build, edges, handling and surface.

  5. Weave from them

Put packages on your looms at full, partly used and near-empty stages. Log stops, sloughing and damaged yarn.

  6. Count good output

Record accepted packages over a whole cycle, including doffing, stops and rework, and file the settings and samples.

Layout and delivery scope

The weight of 2,350 kg is printed for the 48-spindle build. A shorter machine keeps its end drives, controls and access space, so ask Sanfang for the length, weight and power of the exact configuration it quotes.

The table gives 15,600 long, 1,200 wide and 1,600 high, without a unit. Ask for a current installation and handling drawing that shows loading and doffing space, service clearance, floor needs and the power connection.

Write into the order the yarn for commissioning, operator training, upkeep of the traverse, a starter set of spare parts and the warranty period. Price is not published, and neither is a full utility schedule. [1]

Sources & limitations

Sanfang should answer each of these on paper before you sign: the units and bore of each tube entry, the net yarn mass for options A and B, the working speed and package quality on your yarn, how full-package and any length or weight control work, the size, weight and total load of the spindle count you order, and what training, spares and warranty come with the machine.
